Governance

CILIP in Scotland (formerly Scottish Library Association) was set up in 1908 and affiliated with CILIP (Library Association) in 1931, retaining its own constitution and separate governance arrangements. CILIP is the leading professional body for librarians, information specialists and knowledge managers.

As a devolved nation, CILIP in Scotland funds its own office in Glasgow, is registered as a Scottish charity and within CILIP is responsible for all policy, financial and operational matters relating to its internal affairs and for those professional matters solely affecting the operation, development and promotion of library and information services in Scotland
