Conference Funding Options

There are a number of funding opportunities available for you to apply to that will provide financial support to attend our Conference in 2020.

  • CILIPS Professional Development Fund

Our Professional Development Fund is open to all members and the current round covers the period of time during which our Conference takes place. Apply by 6th March using this form for the chance to receive up to £600.

  • SLIC Bursaries

The Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC) are offering a number of bursaries to attend the Conference. The SLIC CILIPS Bursary Scheme is open to any members of CILIP currently working in a Scottish public or school library. Please visit the SLIC website for full details and more information on how to apply.

  • LocScot Sponsored Place

Local Studies Scotland (LocScot) is sponsoring a day place at Conference for a member of the Special Interest Group. To apply please email colin.duncan@inverclyde.gov.uk with approx. 100 words on why you would benefit from attending and what your preferred day would be. Applications should be sent by April 3rd and the successful applicant will be asked to write a Conference report reflecting on the event from a Local Studies perspective to be submitted by the end of August.

  • CILIPS Tayside Branch Sponsored Places

CILIPS Tayside Branch is offering up to four one-day places for members of the Branch to attend the Conference. To apply, please email the Tayside Branch Secretary Laura Stewart (Laura.J.Stewart@angusalive.scot) with approximately 100 words on how you feel you would benefit from attending and what your preferred day of attendance would be. Applications should be sent by March 20th and the successful applicants will be asked to write a Conference report by the end of August.

  • CILIPS North East Branch Sponsored Place

CILIPS North East Branch is offering one day place for a member of the Branch to attend the Conference. To apply, please email the Branch Committee (cilipsne@live.co.uk) with approximately 100 words on how you feel you would benefit from attending and what your preferred day of attendance would be. Applications should be sent by March 20th and the successful applicant will be asked to write a Conference report by the end of August.

  • CILIPS East Branch Sponsored Places

CILIPS East Branch is sponsoring a day place at Conference for two members of the Branch. To apply please email sboylan@eastlothian.gov.uk with approximately 100 words on why you would benefit from attending and what your preferred day would be. Applications should be sent by March 20th and the successful applicants will be asked to write a Conference report to be submitted by the end of August.

  • TAFLIN Fund

The now-folded TAFLIN (Tayside and Fife Library and Information Network) left behind CPD funds which Tayside Branch has been tasked with managing. Any members of CILIP currently working in the former TAFLIN area (Angus, Dundee, Fife, and Perth & Kinross local authorities) are invited to submit funding bids for personal CPD opportunities they have identified. These should be sent to the CILIPS Tayside Branch Secretary Laura.J.Stewart@angusalive.scot. More information on the TAFLIN Fund is available here.
