IFLA Bursaries

Conference delegates

As part of our Professional Development Fund in 2020, we have set aside a significant part of the funding to send 5 of our members to the IFLA World Library and Information Congress taking place in Dublin on 15-21 August.

These bursaries will cover a full place at the IFLA Conference in Dublin on 15-21 August including:

  • Admission to the Congress, the sessions, the poster area and the exhibition
  • Congress Material
  • Opening / Closing Session, Social and Cultural events
  • One local half-day Library Visit (based on availability)

The bursaries will also include an award of £600 towards travel and accommodation. Any additional costs would be at the expense of the award recipient.

Applicants:

  • Must be personal members of CILIP;
  • Should be based in Scotland; and
  • Should not have received a Professional Development Fund grant from CILIPS in the previous 12 months.

Awarding of funds:

In awarding funding, CILIPS will base its decision on the outcomes of a decision matrix as well as factors such as:

  • The quality of the application, including its presentation;
  • If the applicant is using this to help with Professional Registration (e.g Chartership, Revalidation or Certification);
  • Whether an applicant has received a CILIPS or CILIP award in recent years; and
  • If there is an expectation of future commitment to the profession.

In making the award, preference may be given to new professionals or members with limited access to alternative funding sources. Please give details of any special circumstances which you wish to be taken into consideration during the assessment process. It is a condition of the award that recipients write a reflective report of up to 500 words for publication on the CILIPS website.

In order to apply please fill in this form by 6th March. We will confirm whether you have been successful by 20th March.
