Empowering Impact: CILIP’s 2026-30 strategy
CILIP Scotland are pleased to share CILIP’s new strategy Empowering Impact which comes into force this year and stays in place until 2030. The final strategy came together after extensive consultation with various members and partners, including the CILIP Scotland Board and members across Scotland.
The strategy reflects what library and information professionals offer to society and some of the wider challenges it may face during this time period, including technological innovations like Artificial Intelligence, sustainability, social mobility, health and wellbeing and much more.
As CILIP is responsible for championing a unique and diverse sector, consultation played a crucial role in ensuring all parts of the sector feel represented and empowered by the new strategy. Focussing on our longstanding ‘stewardship’ role, as the leading voice, this strategy will promote the use of our unique offer, including the ethical framework and professional registration, to support professionals at every stage of their career, and with that a stronger and more vibrant sector will be empowered to flourish.
Empowering Impact also starts by reinforcing CILIP’s foundations, updating its operations, systems and services. This will result in a more modern, efficient and sustainable offer to members, volunteers, funders and partners.
CILIP CEO Louis Coiffait-Gunn said:
“Society needs this profession more than ever and this profession needs CILIP to keep evolving. Our profession is trusted because it empowers people, equipping them with the information and skills they need to thrive in the modern world. Only CILIP has the ability to empower the entire profession, each professional and each organisation in it, to visibly demonstrate our collective impact. I hope you’ll join us in this vital endeavour.”
