Location: Online via Zoom

About the session: The CILIPS Students & New Professionals Community are working with CILIPS to bring you an Online Learning Careers Workshop! This Online Learning session is aimed at ILS students or anybody new to the profession who is currently searching and applying for jobs.

Heather Marshall, Senior Librarian at Glasgow Caledonian University and Chair of CILIPS West Branch and the CILIPS Trustee Board, will be sharing her advice on writing effective CVs and application forms, interview tips, enhancing your employability, and what qualities that those hiring may look for in job candidates. As a senior library professional, Heather has experience of the hiring process and will be able to share her expertise. Throughout her career, she has worked in multiple library sectors including law and academic libraries.

We hope that anybody who is currently going through the job searching process will leave this session feeling more confident and supported and with useful information they can use to help them with applications and interviews.
