The Cataloguing team at the University of Strathclyde recently undertook a comprehensive review of subject headings used for the Library’s collection of children’s literature. The purpose of this review was to bring this set of in-house subject headings up to date, make it more inclusive, and better integrate it with cataloguing workflows. Delivered by Andrew McAinish, the Cataloguing and Metadata Manager at the University of Strathclyde, this presentation will look at: why a review was needed; how the review was carried out; how changes were implemented in the LMS and discovery service; next steps to make it easier for library users to navigate the Children’s Literature collection.
