What would libraries led by feminists look like?

As our sector addresses the challenges of keeping relevant, being accessible to all and delivering as critical anchor organisations in an uncertain future, Dr Adele Patrick, a co-founder and Director of Glasgow Women’s Library (GWL), makes the case that embedding feminist principles and approaches into our work can offer a route to sustainable resources, empowered staff and the creation of fit for the future libraries with impact. Adele will explore what feminist leadership might entail, give examples of this approach at work in GWL and other library settings, and consider why and how our sector might benefit from embracing the F word.

Taking place on Friday 26th November, 11-12, this free event is not to be missed. And while we wait, why not have a read of CILIPS’s Women’s Empowerment resource collection? Find links, recommended reading and more to help your library play a leading role in advocating for genuine gender equality in Scotland and around the world.
