Secondary School Library Staff: Share your experiences of selection processes and intellectual freedom

Category: News, SLG Scotland

As CILIPS continues to advocate for Scotland’s inspirational school library staff, we are also inviting all secondary school library workers in Scotland to share their views and experiences of collection development via a timely postgraduate research project being conducted by one of our previous student placement researchers.

The questionnaire and/or interview data will be used to answer research questions about book challenges, graphic novels, intellectual freedom, and the use of selection policies. The researcher seeks to understand which views and experiences are common among school library staff in Scotland.

The questionnaire will take 10–30 minutes to complete, depending on how much detail you share in your answers, which you can save and return to as often as necessary. The questionnaire will stay open until 10pm on Sunday 26th February.

The questionnaire is anonymous, but there is also the option to share your contact details if you would be interested in also taking part in a one-to-one online interview on these topics.

Thank you very much for your participation – learn more and access the questionnaire.
