Green Libraries Scotland Grant Fund Recipient: interview with Eleanor White

Category: Blog, CILIPSGoGreen, News

Green Library Scotland Grant Fund, Environmentalist in Residence, Eleanor White, West Dunbartonshire Libraries.

To celebrate the re-opening of the Green Libraries Scotland Grant Fund, we interviewed Eleanor White, Sustainability Co-ordinator for West Dunbartonshire Libraries, and recipient of the Green Libraries Scotland Grant Fund 2023. We hope that this insight into Eleanor’s project and process in applying for the fund inspires you to go for it! If you need any additional ideas, you can watch our interview with School Librarian Donna Baird, outlining the Seeds to Success project, here.

We asked Eleanor to share some insights into the process of applying for the funding to support their Environmentalist-in-residence micro-residency. Inspired by similar projects from the Toronto Public Library and British Library, the artist will respond to the ecological collections in the library and use this as a foundation to plan public events for young people. Please watch to hear Eleanor talk in depth about the process, project and benefits to the community. Thank you to Eleanor White for her contribution and to the beautiful Alexandria Library!
