National Library of Scotland’s Touring Display Breakfast Event
Find out more about the National Library of Scotland’s FREE touring displays at their breakfast event on Wednesday 12th July 09:15-11:00. This event is suitable for prospective venues including community organisations, local libraries and heritage venues, as well as sector professionals who are interested in learning more about their programme of displays.
- 09:15-10:00: Visit the Library’s permanent and temporary galleries before the building opens to the public
- 10:00-10:30: Tea, coffee & pastries with a presentation about the Library’s touring displays programme
- 10:30-11:00: Time for questions, networking and to see a sample of the touring displays
The touring displays are portable versions of National Library exhibitions and collections and are available for venues across Scotland to loan free of charge. Each display is made up of 10 eye-catching banners which are complemented by interactive handling boxes that give visitors a taste of the National Library’s collections. There are four displays to choose from:
- ‘Going to the Pictures’ – brings to life Scotland’s love of cinema
- ‘You Are Here’ – showcases the wonder of maps
- ‘Lifting the Lid’ – illustrates Scotland’s relationship with food and drink
- ‘Scotland’s Photograph Album’ – a brand new display capturing 100 years of Scottish photography
