New round of Public Library Improvement Fund now open

Category: News

The Public Library Improvement Fund (PLIF) is administered by the Scottish Library and Information Council on behalf of the Scottish Government.

A new round of funding has now opened and there is £450,000 available to support innovation in Scottish public libraries.

Successful projects will need to demonstrate how they meet the aims of Scotland’s public library strategy Ambition and Opportunity: A Strategy for Public Libraries in Scotland 2015-2020. Priority will also be given this year to applications that support a response to the pandemic, for example bids that will support libraries to contribute to economic recovery and health and wellbeing within communities.

During the last round of PLIF, 12 projects were funded, all of which directly to as least one of the strategic aims of Ambition and Opportunity. Read more about the PLIF Awards from 2019 here.

If you would like to apply for funding, please submit your application by November 20th to be in with the opportunity of receiving a part of this year’s generous fund. More information on PLIF and how to apply is available here.
