New round of School Library Improvement Fund now open

Category: News

A new round of the School Library Improvement Fund (SLIF) is now open to all state nurseries, primary schools, and secondary schools in Scotland that have an established library. Funding is administered by the Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC) on behalf of the Scottish Government.

SLIF was introduced in 2017 and since then it has positively impacted numerous school library services across the country. It supports activities within school libraries that contribute to key education priorities such as health and wellbeing, literacy and numeracy development, and information and digital learning.

Projects carried out with support from SLIF help school libraries meet the aims of the national school library strategy Vibrant Libraries, Thriving Schools. You can read more about the 2019 projects on the SLIC website.

If you would be interested in finding out more about SLIF and bidding for funding then please visit the SLIC website for full details. Bids should be submitted by noon on Friday 13th November with confirmation of those successful being sent out at the end of November.
