Guidance for Public Libraries published

Category: News

The Scottish Government have published the public libraries safe workplace guidance: https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-public-libraries-guidance/

The guidance comes into effect from 15 July 2020 and applies until further notice. Guidance will be reviewed on a regular basis in line with the regular three weekly review of lockdown requirements. The guidance includes a checklist for public library services as a downloadable annex to help public libraries implement the guidance.

Please note that the guidance does cover customer and visitor data gathering for businesses and other establishments, including libraries. The guidance does not apply where services are taken off-site immediately, for example, a library operating a click-and-collect service. If premises offer a mixture of an on-site and collection service, contact information only needs to be collected for customers who remain on-site.
