Category: News

We are pleased to share details of a new network for Scotland-based library and information science practitioners and researchers. Research, Impact and Value in Librarianship and Information Science – or RIVAL for short – will **provide funding** for information professionals and academics to meet at four **free** knowledge exchange networking events in July 2019, November 2019, March 2020, and July 2020.  An extensive online presence for the project will allow remote participants to also benefit from it.

The first event on Thursday 11th July at Edinburgh Napier University’s Sighthill campus is now open for registration on EventBrite athttps://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/rival-event-1-tickets-58793103756. Speakers include Hazel Hall (Edinburgh Napier University), Sarah Morton (Matter of Focus), and Louise Graham (Edinburgh Libraries). The programme for this first event also includes time for networking and unconference presentations, and for delegates to determine future elements of the RIVAL project. Full details, including how to claim expenses associated with participation (travel, accommodation, subsistence), are available from https://lisrival.com/rival-events/event-1-july-2019/ and the EventBrite page for this first RIVAL network event at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/rival-event-1-tickets-58793103756
