Nominations Open: Scotland’s Library and Information Professional of the Year 2023

Nominations are currently open until Friday 31st March for Scotland’s Library & Information Professional of the Year 2023.

Nominees can either be nominated or nominate themselves.

All nominees must:

  • Be a member of CILIP (Nominees must be members, but non-members can nominate)
  • Be currently working in a library, information service or knowledge service
  • Be making a positive contribution to the lives of their users, whether in a community, a learning institution or a corporate entity.

Please provide a short statement (100-300 words) on how the nominee has performed to the highest level, leading to an outstanding contribution over the past 12 months or so. For all shortlisted professionals, we will come back to the nominee for more detailed information after the application closing date.

Nominations are judged on the following criteria:

  • Innovation in their workplace or service
  • Making a positive contribution to the lives of their service users and/or library community
  • Commitment to profession and/or sector: e.g. advocacy, involvement in CILIPS Committee work, Council, Branches, Groups or contribution to things like working groups, publications, training, project work etc.

CILIP 125

To help our affiliate body CILIP celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Royal Charter, for this year’s Scotland’s Library and Information Professional of the Year all longlisted nominees who are in the first 7 years of their professional life as a librarian, information or knowledge professional will also be put forward for the CILIP 125 list.

Please note that not all longlisted nominees will be guaranteed a CILIP 125 award as this process is decided by a panel led by the CILIP UK President.
