Following the recent nominations and election process, CILIP Scotland is delighted to announce the appointment of our Vice President for 2026, and two new and three returning Trustees joining the board in January 2026.

Vice President 2026/President 2027

Our Vice President for 2026, who will then serve as President in 2027, is Jill Dye, Head of Access at the National Library of Scotland. Jill is a senior information professional with a breadth of experience across library sectors. She is currently a representative on CILIP Members Council and formerly chaired the CILIP Library and Information History group, bringing a wealth of expertise in events, training and member relations.

Congratulations Jill, we can’t wait to work with you!

New and Returning Trustees

We have three members whom we are thrilled to welcome back to the Trustee Board: Jennifer Findlay, Head of Library and Archive Services at the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service, Joy McLean, Senior Librarian at West College Scotland and member of ARLG Scotland, and Kavan Stafford, Senior Librarian at NHS Lanarkshire.

We are also looking forward to welcoming two new additions: Amanda Brennan, Academic Liaison Librarian at the Sir Alex Ferguson Library, Glasgow Caledonian University, and Jennifer Horan, Library Service Development Officer, Children and Young People at Inverclyde Libraries, and former Chair of CILIP Youth Libraries Group. All five of these Trustees will serve 3 years from 1st January 2026.

Thank you

CILIPS Trustees and the Presidential Team, as well as CILIPS staff and our wider professional community, would all like to thank Heather Marshall, outgoing Chair of the Trustee Board. Heather is Senior Academic Liaison Librarian at the Sir Alex Ferguson Library, Glasgow Caledonian University, as well as Chair of CILIPS West Branch, and she has successfully steered the CILIPS Board through complex times for the profession, tirelessly advocating for our sector (and always keeping Board meetings to time)!

All at CILIPS also wish to express our sincere thanks to Karen Veitch, Research Information Coordinator at Glasgow School of Art, who is stepping down after three years on the Board.

Heather and Karen have both been outstanding Trustees and we wish them all the best!
