Academic Library Staff Literacy Needs Survey, with neon text and a circuit-board style graphic.

Our 2024 University of Strathclyde placement student, Shona McKenzie, is conducting a study into the AI literacy needs of academic library staff in Scotland, with a consideration of overarching ethical codes of conduct for librarians and information professionals.

Shona’s survey aims to collect responses from academic library staff in Scotland to gauge current levels of AI literacy amongst academic library staff, as well as the wider perspectives of staff members in the context of library ethics. This information can hopefully be used to recommend how academic institutions could provide more sufficient practical and ethical frameworks, tools, or training for academic library staff to ethically navigate AI and develop AI literacies within their institutions.

Please click the link to learn more about Shona’s research and to share your views via her short survey before the deadline of Friday 19th July. Thank you!
