Bridging Bursary fund available from Creative Scotland

Category: News

Creative Scotland is now offering the Bridging Bursary fund to support freelance professionals and artists, such as writers, poets, and playwrights, whose primary source of income is from their creative work in the not-for-profit sector but who have lost out on income due to COVID-19.

Any professionals who fall into the above category and who consider themselves to be in immediate need are invited to apply for a share of the available £2 million funds. You can seek between £500 and £2,500 to help you through these difficult times.

It is simple and quick to apply and awards are non-competitive. To apply, you will need to provide a CV or a short supporting statement of your work and also the name and address of a professional referee. Applications will be via an online form and the CV provided must demonstrate a freelance professional creative practice.

Full information and guidance on how to apply is available here.

The fund opened on Monday 30th March but was paused after an overwhelming number of applications was recieved. This is to allow Creative Scotland to properly assess all of the requests to date and also to give extra time to submit an application to those who may need it. A second round of requests will be open from Monday 20th April and this round is intended to be open until Friday 25th April but may close earlier if there is another overwhelming response so make sure to have your applications ready to submit ASAP from 20th April.
