Dekko Comics Video Courses
Dekko Video Courses will be launching on dekkocomics.com on the 16th May as the latest addition to Dekko Comics Ltd’s resources. They are based on the workshops that have been running across the country since 2016, in which pupils and staff alike learn how to turn text-heavy school information into comics, pictures, rhyme & rap, puzzles, and other forms of entertainment. Primarily the video courses are about teaching how to use more than just words to learn and retain information.
As founder Rossie Stone dubs it, “The Dekko Technique” courses are designed with P6-S2 years in mind, especially for helping engagement and retention in neurodiverse learners, and in expanding their toolkit of revision techniques. Their goal is to improve independent study skills and boost confidence with the way pupils learn, so that they are better prepared and more assured of themselves when it comes to studying for their first exams.
The video courses will work as an online library where schools or support-organisations get a general login to access the material throughout the institution, and teachers can either teach the material to a whole classroom, or to targeted pupils, or give it to pupils to learn at their own pace on their Chromebooks. The courses being launched include Creative Study Skills, Confidence in Neurodiversity, a CPD Course for staff, and Punctuation & Grammar.
