We Need your Library Stories!

CILIPS are working with an experienced documentary maker who is exploring the possibility of making a film about libraries in Scotland and all of the moving, funny, interesting and of course life-changing things they do or amazing items or treasures they hold. Now, we need your help!

Please use this form to tell us any stories you are able to share from your library (where applicable) or from your career in libraries. Please don’t share the names of users involved or reveal personal details unless you have permission, but do give us any details that you are able to.

The documentary is still in the early planning stages so not everything may get used and the documentary maker will be in touch if needed. Either way, if you give us permission via the form, we would love to use some of the stories you share on our website and social media channels too.

We are looking for stories big and small, specific or general that show the colour of everything libraries do – it could be something funny, something strange or interesting, or something life-changing! Just send us a few lines or a few paragraphs and we will pass them on, and feel free to share the link with any colleagues or service users who may also be interested in contributing. Thank you!
