#Library5 2020 Day 5

We wanted the final day of #Library5 to be a celebration of all things library – asking people to share what libraries mean to them and their favourite things about libraries. Below are some of our favourite Tweets from the day.

  • North Ayrshire Open Data posted a Tweet highlight the work librareis do around inclusivty by sharing a picture of Albert and Goldie – their ‘dogs’ which promote Guide Dogs Scotland
  • East Lothian Library shared their door display which welcomes children to the Children’s Library, making it feel like a fun and accessible place right from the get-go
  • Another brilliant poem from a pupil at Elgin Academy about what the libraries means to them – we absolutely loved this post!
  • West Dunbartonshire Libraries highlighted the new and exciting ways they’ve found to connect with their community and ensure they can still access their library service. The quotes here and here really show what libraries mean to their users
  • A great point from West College Scotland Libraries!
  • E-Services Librarian, Chris Wilson, says that for him ‘Your Library’ means being able to access thousands of e- and audiobooks through your public library membership and BorrowBox
  • CultureNL wanted to remind everyone that “our libraries are your library” – you only need a library card to access a wealth of amazing resources. Glasgow Libraries highlight the same point, encouraging everyone to become a public library member
  • East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Tweeted about using your library to discover and enjoy books, promoting their Connect and Collect service which sees library staff creating a bag of books tailored for their users
  • Culture Perth & Kinross highlight their ‘Poetry Prescription’ which is posted each morning to encourage, reassure, inspire, and remind us of our common humanity – another brilliant example of the different things Your Library does for you
